The engine idles nicely, and I give ..., Yamaha VZ150TLRY starts and instantly dies. Last night I changes the VST filter and paper filter in the clear fuel filter on my 2000 Vmax 150 HPDI. I changed it after this past Sunday was on the water and at high rpm's the motor started surging and doing the fuel starving thing. So I ordered the filters and last night went ahead and put them on ..., The adjustment on the 2005 Yamaha 90 2 stroke needle valves is 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns out from fully seated. When mine starts sneezing at idle I take the needles out one at a time a squirt some carb cleaner in the passages and blow them out. Another problem with the Yamaha carbs is if they sit for a long time, the floats drop and the needle ..., When 2 stroke engine troubleshooting and the engine is flooded, you want to spin the engine over fast with the throttle wide open several times. You should start to hear it pop, just keep pulling or kicking and holding it wide open until it starts, then rev the engine a bit to clean it out and keep it running, then warm it up properly., Idles smoothly and sounds great in neutral, when I shift into gear the engine begins to stall. If I advance to about 1,000 RPM, engine runs in gear. After about 1,400 RPM motor begins to bog down and stalls. If I pull it back to 1,000 it will keep running.
