The IMI Razor Core is significantly cheaper and nearly as accurate, so until you are keeping scores... it makes great practice ammo if you are forced to ..., I mean best all around option is to roll your own 77gr handloads to stack deep, but if you aren't set up to reload, wolf gold is great to stock up on if it can still be found at a reasonable price. IMI Razorcore 77gr isn't bad either, I highly doubt you can still find it for .50 or less though., I will start by saying this... ive been a HUGE Hornady supporter since day 1. I use their duty ammo on duty, their bullets for reloading, and their factory ammo for most calibers I run. I compared AAC 75gr, AAC 77gr SMK, IMI 77gr Razorcore, and our 75gr Hornady BTHP handloads that I had worked up for a previous service rifle barrel that shot well in subsequent WOA service rifle barrels and a few of our mil-spec barrel builds ..., I'll heartily second the OP's experience with Defender's customer service and the accuracy of their 69gr .223, 77gr 5.56, and 142gr 6.5CM. My Tikka T3X Varmint (in MDT chassis) consistently shoots the 69- and 77-grain rounds into 1/2" at 100 yards, and 1/2MOA groups out to 300 are common. Velocities tend to the slow end of the spectrum - pretty ..., Almost as good as Black Hills 77gr OTM (slightly more inconsistent powder amount). At 600 yards with any barrel (16, 18, 20, 22) and any twist (1/8.8, 1/8, 1/7) very strong performer.
