In my MP groups we have a gentleman's agreement not to play genocidal civics or take the Become the Crisis perk. Everything else is really fair game though. I wouldn't be surprised, however, if MP games banned the Clone Army origin, since it's easily the best in the game. Alot of mp games ban genocidal, crisis perk and clone army origin.

You want a mix of different kinds of battleships to get a balanced fleet. Generally you want 80% with Spinal Mount/Artillery/Artillery segments, and 20% with Spinal Mount/Carrier/Artillery segments.
