Considering a throw in the glove box just cause kind of pistol and from what I've read the Armscor/Rock Island M206 is a decent pistol for the price. I read an American Rifleman article on the gun and the writer said that he was pleasantly surprised at it's performance., We look at the differences between the Rock Island Armory M206 and the Taurus 856. The reason for my question is clarification as to how durable the Rock Island M206 is considering that it's made up of pot metal. Can't blame you for asking though since P+ can't take a hard toll on even revolvers rated in that pressure., I had an m206 for a number of years and it was a joy to shoot. I had to fix the cylinder latch, and the metal of the internals was bubble gum soft. They are also pretty heavy for pocket carry. The weight does help absorb recoil. My m206 was a hell of a lot more pleasant to shoot than my S&W 642. 3.
